Very few people know how significant a carbon footprint animal agriculture represents.

Yes, eating meat is bad for the climate. Especially eating beef.

The documentary film Cowspiracy is unfortunately based on greatly exaggerated numbers, but it does present the important connection between climate and animal agriculture very well. Here are some reliable numbers.

So eating vegetarian or better even vegan as often as possible makes a huge difference. And again it also saves you a lot of money. So what’s not to like?!

If you can–GARDEN!! It’s therapeutic, a great work-out, you can do it as a family–and it reduces the need to purchase food that’s been packaged/cooled/transported/ far away.

You should consider joining a CSA (=Community Sponsored Agriculture) which will get you a box of fresh locally-grown greens all summer, support your local farmers, and reduce carbon emissions from transportation and packaging/storing. There are many different kinds of CSAs out there–and they are all great fun!

Nice side-effect: You will get to cook and love veggies you never know existed!
